ATLANTA, GA — December 14, 2020 — Germinator and its franchisees continue to set the standard in the surface disinfectant industry, announcing the addition of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) monitoring to its service offerings as part of its patent-pending methodology.

ATP monitoring allows Germinator's technicians to test surfaces for the potential presence of living microorganisms in as little as 15 seconds prior to sanitizing and disinfecting to show clients their starting point. This allows clients to see the enormous difference after service when they retest surfaces.

What Is ATP and How Does ATP Testing Work?

ATP is an energy molecule found in all living organisms—including bacteria, mold, and other potentially harmful microorganisms. When activated, ATP gives off a bright bioluminescent light, which is measured in relative light units (RLUs). Upon entering a business or residence, Germinator will take samples from surfaces using swabs, which are then inserted into the luminometer. The luminometer gives a rapid and accurate reading of ATP on a surface. The higher the light output, the greater the indication of the need for proper cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting.

"We are excited to implement the ATP monitoring technology into our sanitizing and disinfecting process," said Jeff Gill, CEO of Germinator. "Our mission is to serve as long-term partners for our customers to help them live protected. We plan to be there every step of the way to ensure that we properly sanitize and disinfect areas of concern and measure the effectiveness of our work after a job is complete."

Germinator will offer ATP monitoring before performing its sanitizing and disinfecting process. Once the initial ATP test has been completed, Germinator applies its Genesis surface treatment. Genesis is a one-step cleaner and broad-spectrum sanitizer and disinfectant treatment that harnesses the power of hypochlorous acid (HOCI).

Derived from naturally occurring minerals, Genesis not only eliminates odors at their source but kills a wide range of bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA, Salmonella enterica, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and viruses including norovirus, rotavirus, and adenovirus on hard, non-porous, environmental surfaces.

It meets the Association of Official Agricultural Chemists (AOAC) germicidal spray standards for Hospital Grade Disinfection. It is on the EPA N List of products determined to meet the criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. As a result, this treatment will eliminate bacteria and viruses that may reside in your environment without the use of harsh chemicals or fumes.

Once Genesis has been applied, Germinator applies its Shield, a water-based quaternary ammonium compound that imparts a durable bacteriostatic finish. It is EPA-registered as effective against the growth of mold, mildew, algae, and odor-causing bacteria. This application creates an invisible barrier that combats deterioration and discoloration and promotes freshness for up to three months.

The Genesis and Shield products are applied by using an electrostatic sprayer, which is the most efficient and effective means of delivering the products to the intended application sites. After Germinator's surface treatment and protectant services are applied, the company's highly-trained field specialists retest ATP levels to ensure the surfaces have achieved the intended results.

A Socially Conscious Opportunity

Germinator franchises continue to rapidly expand across the country on a mission to better serve their communities during a time where germ-control is of the utmost importance. The owner, Jeff Gill, decided to franchise the company in December 2019, prior to the start of the pandemic.

A Germinator Franchise Opportunity Banner That Reads, 'Huge Potential, Low Start-up Costs, Repeat Business Model, and Endless Markets for Services'
He wanted to offer potential business owners and entrepreneurs a unique opportunity that utilizes a proven business model using industry-leading technologies, which enables them to provide a valuable service to their communities through education. He believes Germinator's services can help create a difference for just about anyone, and potential franchise owners will be able to provide a service that's revolutionary, easy to use, and reasonably priced.

Potential franchisees have an opportunity to gain financial independence and will help others secure their businesses and homes from harmful pathogens and unwanted odors. Germinator's products are recognized by the EPA and further validated by our Scientific Advisory Board made up of key leaders like Dr. Roscoe Moore Jr. —who was an Assistant to the United States Surgeon General for five administrations.
